# Your First Request


Five minutes from a login to reading your own audiences: get a token, see
what your account can build, then list what it has built. After the login,
every request is a read: nothing is built, and nothing counts toward your
data-scan limit.

## 1. Get a token

Exchange the email and password you use for the Intuizi console for a token:

The token is in `data.token`:

A login token is fine for trying things out, but each login replaces it. For
servers, scripts, and CI, create a long-lived API token instead - see
[Which token should I use?](/getting-started/authentication#which-token-should-i-use)

## 2. See what you can build

Send the token as `Authorization: Bearer <token>` on every request. Start with
the dataset types your account can build audiences from:

Every response comes in the same envelope, with the result in `data`:

Each `value` is a dataset `type` you can put in an audience.

## 3. List your audiences

Long lists come a page at a time, as `data.items` with a `pagination` block:

Status `104` Completed means the audience is built and ready to deliver.
